Educational programmes

The Foundation has a proud history of supporting educational programmes that provide enrichment opportunities for children and young people in schools across the City. Our ongoing Awards and Prizes scheme, which started in 1978, currently benefits 31 secondary schools in Bristol and is designed to celebrate success.

Grants have been awarded to 18 primary schools to improve their outdoor play spaces ready for the start of the new academic year.

We are supporting NSPCC Schools Service in Bristol so that they can deliver the
'Speak out Stay Safe'
programme to 63 primary schools across the City. Speak out Stay Safe teaches children to recognise signs of abuse and empowering them to find their voice.

The Foundation is the proud sponsor of the 2025 School's Programme. 80 primary schools in Bristol are busy decorating their very own Norbot character which will be shown at the School Exhibition later this year.

2025/2026 initiatives for primary age children

We believe that every Year 6 pupil in Bristol should have the opportunity to master the essential life saving safety education taught by Lifeskills. That's why, for the next 3 years, we have committed to fund Lifeskills so that they can offer 4,800 places to disadvantaged pupils that would otherwise miss out on learning these vital skills.

We are funding a new schools programme helping to addressing educational inequality in Bristol.
Over the next 3 years, 6,600 children from primary schools in disadvantaged areas of Bristol will receive fully paid for trips to We the Curious. Year 3 pupils will be able to engage with over 200 STEM exhibits, enjoy a thrilling science show and Planetarium experience.
