St Mungo's Bristol

St Mungo's provides a full range of support to people experiencing homelessness, addressing complex challenges that go beyond a lack of housing. Homelessness is deeply rooted and systemic and many of their clients feel excluded from society, isolated, displaced and face violence and mental health challenges.
Once off the streets, St Mungo's provides ongoing tailored support through various programmes such as 'Learning, Training and Employment' and 'Putting Down Roots' (PDR) which John James Bristol Foundation has part funded since 2019.
PDR is one of the UK's longest running therapeutic horticulture programmes and can result in participants receiving a City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Horticulture Skills. Through participating in these gardening sessions, people develop confidence and enhanced wellbeing. St Mungo's recovery services have a transformative impact, breaking the cycle of homelessness and helping people rebuild their lives.
