Key Cafe

The Foundation is one of several organisations that helped to fund the fit out of the Key Cafe. The Cafe is staffed by ex-prisoners and its mission is to reduce reoffences by providing work experience to those transitioning from prison.

A YouGov survey found that 50% of employers wouldn’t employ ex-offenders, but it’s unemployment that can often draw people back to reoffending. Everyone deserves a second chance which is why John James Bristol Foundation is proud to support the Cafe. Ex-offenders not only staff the cafe, but current prison inmates help by supplying homemade jam with the catchy title: 'Jail Jar Jams - Taste the Freedom'.
The Cafe is located at the front of HMP Bristol on Gloucester Road and is currently receiving 5-star rating reviews from the public.
