​Emmaus Bristol provides housing, support and employment training to people who have experienced homelessness.

 

Many people who have experienced homelessness arrive having not eaten well, or regularly. With Emmaus, they can enjoy healthy meals and learn how to cook great food for themselves and others, all as part of the support Emmaus provides. However, food costs have risen sharply in recent years and the charity was struggling to provide the nourishing meals that are absolutely vital in their homes supporting people recovering from homelessness.

The funding from John James Bristol Foundation has contributed to the cost of food for an entire year. Emmaus will be able to provide three meals a day for everyone supported, and try out new ideas to help them build confidence in cooking healthy meals for themselves long after they’ve moved on from Emmaus Bristol.​​​​​
