Bravo Medics is a volunteer-led emergency medical charity delivering consultant-level critical care to the sickest patients across Bristol. The Consultants, who respond in their spare time are dispatched directly by Ambulance Control in Bravo Medic's fully equipped vehicles.

John James Bristol Foundation has contributed £10,000 towards the operational response costs for 2026. The grant will go towards vehicle maintenance, insurance, consumables and replacement kit. On average they attend 60 emergency responses in Bristol, saving lives and reducing suffering by bringing intensive care out of the hospital and to the roadside, home or workplace.

Bravo Medics are the only road-based voluntary service providing hospital-level treatment in the community when every minute counts. The advanced equipment they carry enables interventions such as pre-hospital anaesthesia, surgical procedures, blood transfusions and resuscitation at the scene.
