Access Sport

Access Sport Bristol

Access Sport's vision is a world where no young person is excluded from the life changing benefits of community sport. They do this by tackling access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled young people in Bristol.

John James Bristol Foundation has awarded funding towards the Change Cycling Bristol programme which aims to reach 1000 young people aged 5 - 18, giving them the opportunity to have access to a bike, the skills and confidence to ride it and somewhere local, safe and exciting to ride.

This important life-skill delivers against all health and well-being metrics and helps to transform underserved communities in Bristol through the physical, mental, and social benefits of cycling.

The Foundation has supported Access Sport since 2018 and has contributed £90,000 towards building and maintaining cycle tracks and cycle equipment at Hillfields, Stockwood and Lawrence Western sites.
