​Windmill Hill City Farm is a 4.5 acre green urban oasis with a mission to bring experiences of food, farming and the environment to one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in Bristol. The community spaces include a working farm, gardens, café and community rooms which are all well used by the local community.​

 

The Foundation awarded a grant towards the renovation of the Old Dairy which is used by the 350 volunteers that help to maintain the site and are essential for the running of the farm through animal care and gardening sessions. Many of the volunteers attend mental health and wellbeing sessions as part of the health and social care programme.​​

The newly renovated Old Dairy is now an accessible and energy efficient space offering a warm, welcoming place where the volunteers can meet and support one another, especially those with mobility, dementia and sight impairments.
