Sustainable Hive are specialists in sustainability, green education and engagement. Their mission is to connect people to create action, by bridging the gaps between schools, communities and businesses.
This year the Foundation awarded funding for 'Fishing for Change; Change leaders', a youth empowerment project engaging 16-25 year olds with their local environment and leading behaviour change. 18 young people were trained to become Change leaders and they were then able to lead conversations and the Fishing for Change activities at the Bristol Festival of Nature which took place in June 2025.
Fishing for Change is an adventure for families; each event is spent learning about plastic pollution, fishing for litter, sorting, weighing & logging it. Participants then have the 'know-how' to make a positive difference to the litter issues facing Bristol. Last year 40 families took part in 'Fishing for Change' and removed 400kg of litter from Bristol Harbour.
