Headway

Headway Bristol is a registered charity supporting adults affected by acquired brain injury.
Brain injury frequently results in cognitive difficulties including memory impairment, reduced executive functioning, fatigue and communication challenges. These impairments create significant barriers when navigating complex welfare systems such as Personal Independence Payments, Employment and Support Allowance, Universal Credit and Attendance Allowance.
The Foundation has awarded funding towards specialist welfare benefits advice and advocacy for adults with acquired brain injury. Many of the people supported are unable to complete lengthy forms, gather medical evidence, attend assessments independently, or challenge incorrect decisions without specialist help. Our funding will help improve financial stability and prevent crisis.
