Downend Men in Sheds

Downend Men in Sheds is a community-based project dedicated to reducing social isolation, promoting mental well-being, and supporting local craftsmanship. The workshop provides a safe, inclusive space where men of all ages but particularly older men, can come together to engage in hands-on activities such as woodworking, DIY projects, and community projects. Members can develop valuable skills, foster new friendships, and improve their overall quality of life.

The Foundation has provided funding for new equipment, shelving, and communal workbenches for the new workshop premises. The new space is a bespoke working environment offering a vital lifeline for many men looking for social connection. It is hoped that the improved workshop will encourage new members, and that Downend Men in Sheds will continue as a supportive group that can respond to requests within the wider community for assistance in building, and shaping the environment in the local area.
