Travelling Light Theatre

Travelling Light Theatre company is a children's charity that creates theatre with, and for, children and young people. Based in Barton Hill, the artistic programme includes award-winning theatre shows, creative learning programmes, regular youth theatre, workshops and projects in the local community.

John James Bristol Foundation has awarded a grant towards 'Louder than Words', a free, weekly drama group for 20+ children with disabilities and additional needs. The sessions provide space for participants to explore their creativity through drama, music and storytelling. The children are supported to develop frendships, communication skills, confidence, independence and self expression.

Feedback from previous  'Louder than Words' programmes shows that the skills and confidence gained through the group then help the children and young people to engage more in their school settings.
