1625 Independent People

1625 Independent People is Bristol’s youth homelessness charity which supports more than 1,600 young people every year to access and sustain safe housing, education, training and employment. 1625 offers a range of specialist support to some of the city’s most vulnerable young people, including care-experienced young people, custody leavers, refugees and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
The Foundation has made a pledge of £500,000 towards the capital expenditure needed to launch Bristol's largest and most ambitious youth homelessness project in the City's history. Kingsley Hall, in Old Market, will be transformed into a safe, welcoming and thriving centre where the City’s most disadvantaged young people can re-engage in education and employment, enhance their wellbeing and rebuild their lives. The project includes new training facilities, a youth-led social enterprise and 9 new studio flats for young homeless people.
